Hearts assistant coach positive ahead of Kotoko clash

Hearts of Oak assistant coach, Edward Nii Odoom says their upcoming encounter against Asante Kotoko will be the team’s defining moment in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians were close to their third defeat in the league against Bechem United until substitute winger Patrick Razak’s last-gasp leveler clinched a 1-1 stalemate for the club.

Hearts are under intense pressure and will have to transform their campaign, but coach Odoom believes that game will bring out the best in his charges.

“The next game against Kotoko is of course a defining moment for us,” Odoom told Otec FM.

“It is however not for the coaches alone but everyone at the club. The supporters have a role to play ahead of the crucial game so we will work hard and improve on our last game against Bechem United.”

“Although, we couldn’t win against Bechem, the players played well and created decent opportunities but it was unfortunate we couldn’t utilise. In spite of all these, I believe we will be ready for the Kotoko game,” he added.

The Rainbow Club have claimed just 11 points out of a possible 27 – winning three, losing four and drawing two. They lie 10th on the league log and a loss against their bitterest rivals on Sunday will be a tougher pill for their fans to swallow.
