Bash blames goalkeeper for Dwarfs’ defeat at Karela

Ebusua Dwarfs coach Bashir Hayford was not happy with his goalkeeper Frank Adoh after their second successive defeat in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Newly promoted Karela United thrashed his side 3-0 at Cam Park in Aiyinase courtesy a goal under one minute from Diawisie and two others from Isaac Kwain and Donald Wellington.

Speaking after the game, coach Hayford laid the blame squarely on the experienced shot-stopper’s failings.

“He [Frank Andoh] gifted them the two goals. It was a gift to them. When it happens like that, it dampens the spirit of the players.

“He allowed the first goal to go in cheaply and the second goal was even going off but he decided to save it into his on net when the players were fighting to come back to the game. So, I decided to take him off and when I did that the team stabilized.

“He has featured in a lot of big games and if he says he couldn’t perform because of tension then I can’t believe it.

“I’m a coach who does not blame my players but I can say our goalkeeper let the players and the whole team down,” he told journalists.

Following the back-to-back defeats, Ebusua Dwarfs have dropped to 14th position on the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League log after four games. They next host Bechem United at the Len Clay Stadium on Saturday April 7.
