2017/18 GHPL Player of the Month: March nominees

Two attackers and a goalkeeper have been nominated for the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League Player of the Month for March.

The shortlist revealed by the Premier League Board (PLB) on Tuesday has Aminu Mohammed (WAFA SC), Zuberu Sharani (Dreams FC) and Felix Annan (Asante Kotoko) in contention for the first monthly award of the new season.

.-How they made it:

Aminu Mohammed

WAFA SC’s U-17 World Cup star is nominated after scoring in the first three games before firing blanks in last Saturday’s defeat to Elmina Sharks. Two of Aminu’s three goals during the month were free-kick conversions. He made an assist and also picked up the man-of-the match award twice.

Zuberu Sharani

The Ghana Premier League rookie caps a dream start to the topflight with this nomination after scoring two goals for returnees Dreams FC. In addition to his goals, three MvP Awards gives him a chance of winning the monthly gong.

Felix Annan

The Asante Kotoko shot-stopper’s man-of-the-match gongs in two straight games make it difficult for him to be overlooked for the enviable list of top three performers for the first month of the 2017/18 season. He proved the barrier for opposition attackers who, most often, breached the Porcupine defense during the period. Annan had two clean sheets in the process.

What’s at stake?

At the launch of the season, the league’s product sponsor NASCO announced an upgrade on the reward package for standout players for every month.
