EPL: Ayew brothers team up to help Swansea humiliate West Ham

Ghana’s Ayew brothers were on form as Swansea City thumped relegation rivals West Ham 4-1 in the Premier League Saturday.

Ki Sung-Yueng got the scoring underway early on, drilling a shot into the bottom corner after 8 minutes, before Mike van der Hoorn doubled the advantage in the 32nd minute.

Then came the second half where Andre Ayew turned up to claim two assists – one for Andy King in the 48th minute and the second for his younger brother Jordan from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute.

Andre who was facing his former team got clipped inside the penalty box by Kouyate to which referee Martin Atkinson rightly whistled for a penalty.

Swansea had not had a penalty in the Premier League since December 2016, but Jordan Ayew coolly converted his 10th goal of the season.

West Ham managed a consolation 11 minutes from time as Antonio fired through the legs of Fernandez and past the unsighted Lukas Fabianski.

Swansea City have given their survival hopes a major boost with the victory at the Liberty Stadium. They’ve now jumped to 13th and drawn level with West Ham on 30 points in the Premier League table.
