2016/17 MTN FA Cup Awards Nominations: Adams, Cobbinah for MvP

The MTN FA Cup Committee has released the nominees for the 2016/17 season’s Awards.

The event will take place at the plush M Plaza Hotel located at Roman Ridge, Accra on Wednesday April 7.

Kotoko’s Sadick Adams who registered a hat-trick in the final and Hearts talisman Winful Cobbinah are favourites to nick the MvP award with the former also listed as joint top scorer of the 2016/17 FA Cup alongside Raphael Ocloo of Okyeman Planners.

Champions Asante Kotoko have the most nominations, 7 followed by arch-rivals Hearts of Oak whom they beat 3-1 in the finals. The Phobians got six nominations.

In total, there are 14 categories for the 7th edition of the MTN FA Cup Awards.

The nominees are:

  1. Most Valuable Player: Winful Cobbinah (Hearts of Oak), Isaac Amoah (Amidaus Professionals), Sadick Adams (Asante Kotoko)

 

  1. Most Promising Player: David S. Abagna (Wa All Stars), Raphael Ocloo (Okyeman Planners), Rashid Nortey (Medeama SC)

 

  1. Best Defender: Richard Akrofi (Hearts of Oak), Ahmed Adams (Asante Kotoko), Ibrahim Yaro (Medeama SC)

 

  1. Top Scorer: Sadick Adams (Asante Kotoko), Raphael Ocloo (Okyeman Planners)

 

  1. Best Referee of the Year: Charles Bulu, J.A Amenya, Awal Mohammed

 

  1. Assistant Referee of the Year: Shine Aryeetey, Kennedy Sarfo Adade, Samuel Asiedu

 

  1. MC of the Year: AA Lawal, J.F Mensah, Alhaji S.D Yahaya

 

  1. Best Team Supporters: Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, True Democracy
