Ghalca G8: Clubs receive GH¢160,000 participation fee

Kudjoe Fianoo, the Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (Ghalca) has indicated that they have paid an amount of GH¢160, 000 to participating clubs ahead of the G-8 tournament scheduled for January 6-21, 2018.

This year’s competition has been divided into two groups. Group A houses league champions Aduana Stars, FA Cup winners Asante Kotoko, Dreams FC and Eleven Wonders playing at the Kumasi Sports Stadium,

Also in Group B are FA Cup finalist Accra Hearts of Oak, Ebusua Dwarfs, Medeama SC as well as Karela FC who will play at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

In an interview with GNA Sports, Mr. Fianoo indicated that participating clubs have all picked their cheques and are ready to play the tournament.

“We have just finished with one of the stakeholder meetings to keep us abreast with the organization.

“All clubs have picked their appearance fee cheques of GH¢20,000 each and everything is in place to kick start on the 6th of January at the two venues.

“The clubs have committed themselves to this tournament and see it as an avenue to prepare for the coming season especially those going to Africa and they have promised to give the tournament their full support,” he added.

The top two clubs from each group will advance to the semi-finals and would earn an additional GH¢5,000.00 each. The eventual winners wll also take home GH¢10,000.00 with the runner-up receiving GH¢5,000.
