Basigi laments poor officiating in Cameroon-Ghana draw

Ghana coach Yusif Basigi has accused Congo referee Cynthia Ngakossa of deliberately setting out to help Cameroon in Sunday’s U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier.

The Black Princesses had to come back through Captain Princella Adubea whose second half goal cancelled out an Alexandra Takounda header header in the 11th minute to register a 1-1 draw at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé.

“Officiating wasn’t the best yesterday,” Basigi told Happy FM Monday.

“The referee was clearly out there to help the Cameroonians but my girls did their best.

The former Black Queens gaffer is however confident his charges will overcome the Cameroonians in the second leg at the Cape Coast Stadium on January 27.

“The score line isn’t the best but I strongly believe we will qualify for France,” he stated.

Ghana are seeking a fifth straight qualification to the Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup slated for France from August 5-24, 2018.
