The MLS’ New England Revolution are reportedly chasing the signature of versatile Ghana midfielder Thomas Abbey.
The 24-year-old is now a free agent after ending his contract with Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.
He scored 14 goals last season as the team’s captain while primarily featuring as a center attacking midfielder, though he also has experience playing on the wing.
In recent years, the Ghana Premier League has produced several MLS starters, including midfielder Gershon Koffie and defenders Harrison Afful and Jonathan Mensah.
In early November, Thomas Abbey was linked to Minnesota United but the Loons debunked the reports.
The latest rumour was ignited by American journalist Jeff Rueter but Revolution have yet to react to it at the time of filing this report.
