Hearts defeat Wa All Stars to reach 2017 FA Cup final

Accra Hearts of Oak reached the final of the 2017 MTN FA Cup after beating Wa All Stars on Sunday.

The Phobians recorded a 2-1 victory over the Northern Blues in the first semifinal game at the Len Clay Stadium.

Hearts scored in each half – first, a 31st minute strike by speedy winger Patrick Razak after feeding on a pass from captain Thomas Abbey.

Striker Kwame Kizito then cushioned the lead for Hearts just seven minutes into the second half when he pounced on a loose ball to slot home.

Wa All Stars managed to halve the deficit through substitute Samuel Atta Mensah in the 69th minute. 

Hearts kept on with the 2-1 lead through to the final whistle by referee Reginald Lathbridge.

They will meet the winner of the second semifinal clash between Asante Kotoko and Medeama.

Hearts who are the most successful club in the FA Cup with 10 tittles last won the competition 17 years ago.

The 2017 MTN FA Cup finak is scheduled for the Tamale Sports Stadium on October 29.
