U-20 WWCQ: Princesses ready for Algeria – Yussif Basigi

Coach of the national Under-20 Women’s team, Yussif Basigi, has said his team is fully prepared to face their Algerian counterparts come Friday.

The team flew out to Algeria on Tuesday ahead of Friday night’s 7pm kickoff.

The Princesses have been in camp preparing for the first leg encounter against the Algerians in the 2018 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup in France.

With the game scheduled to take place on an astro turf and under floodlight, the team moved their training from Prampram to the Asamoah Gyan Sports Complex in Accra Academy to wrap up preparations and acclimatized with the conditions.

“Preparations wasn’t enough for us but we are getting on. I am very happy for the girls because they have been able to catch up very fast and things are going on well for them,” Basigi told the media.

“We are on course. To be able to make to it to the world cup, we need to qualify first so we are taking it match after match. We are not in a hurry. We are taking one country at a time.

“Our focus is on Algeria at the moment after that we clear the second and third hurdle to be able to make it to the World Cup.”

Ghana will battle for one of the only two slots allocated for Africa at the tournament next year.
