Ghanaian side Dreams FC have announced the release of enterprising midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey on a season-long loan to Spanish lower tier side Extremadura UD.
Lomotey is currently competing in the Wafu Cup, a West African regional tournament with the Ghana national team. He will join his new team once the competition ends on September 24.
According to a statement by Dreams FC, the deal was sealed on transfer deadline day, August 30.
“He joins on an initial season-long loan move with an option for a further three-year deal if the move is made permanent,” it read in part.
The 19-year-old, who was voted Dreams FC’s Players Player of the Season during the past week, is known for keen vision and adept passing ability and his club believes a step up to the Spanish Segunda B can help his development.
Emmanuel Lomotey made 24 appearances, scored 10 times and provided 10 assists to help Dreams FC secure a quick return to the Ghanaian topflight after their demotion to the GN Bank Division One League last season.
