The Premier League’s West Ham are said to be in talks to sign Majeed Waris from French club Lorient.
The development comes barely 24 hours after Lorient rejected a reported £8 million offer for the diminutive striker.
According to Sky sources, the player is currently in London for talks with the Premier League club.
The 25-year-old Ghana international has been at Lorient for the past two years and is viewed as being a likely replacement for Diafra Sakho, who passed a medical at Rennes on Wednesday.
Waris, formerly of Spartak Moscow and Trabzonspor, can play as either a striker or winger.
The transfer window closes on Thursday.
