VIDEO: Alhassan Wakaso vows to ‘fight’ for new club Vitoria Guimaraes

Alhassan Wakaso has promised to ‘fight’ for new club Vitoria Guimarães and its fans.

The 25-year-old Ghana international completed a return to the Portuguese league after passing his medical on Monday.

The defensive midfielder only left Rio Ave in the January transfer window for French side FC Lorient.

However, after a frustrating seven months during which he combined a total 13 appearances, Alhassan refused to follow Lorient to the lower division after their relegation from the Ligue 1 last season.

“I’m very happy to join Vitoria Guimarães.

“It is a very big club and I’m here to fight for the team to achieve something and fight for the fans too,” he told the club’s website.

Vitoria Guimarães have signed Alhassan Wakaso in a deal that will keep him around till summer 2020.

Alhassan is brother to Black Stars kingpin Mubarak Wakaso.
