MLS WATCH: Accam goal not enough as Fire suffer first home defeat

Ghana forward David Accam scored his goal number thirteen in the MLS but it was not enough for Chicago Fire who got crushed at home by Toronto FC on Saturday.

The visitors won the intense encounter 3-1 to break the home record of Fire who had not lost a game at the Toyota Park this season.

In the 54th minute, Accam cancelled out Marky Delgado’s 14th minute lead for Toronto FC.

But Toronto regained their lead nine minutes later through Nicholas Hasler before Italian forward Sebastian Giovinco put the game beyond Fire with the third goal in the 90th.

Toronto FC’s quality proved too much for the Fire who have now lost three straight games.
