KP Boateng: New Frankfurt man raring to go

Kevin-Prince Boateng is looking forward to a good chapter at Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, his fourth German club.

On Friday, the 30-year-old completed the medical check-up, took a tour of the Frankfurt stadium, was dressed in the new colours, signed a contract until 2020, and talked about his ambitions at the new home.

The offensive midfielder was quite relaxed as he talked about how he came into contact with Frankfurt.

“We’ve been in touch for a while, but it’s only in the past few days that things have been so successful,” said the former Hertha Berlin, Dortmund and Schalke player who calls Eintracht Frankfurt a “big club”.

Boating went on: “I missed Germany, and also playing in Bundesliga. It means a lot to me that Eintracht gave me the opportunity to come home with my family.

“I am really looking forward to play in the German topflight again, it’s an exciting league. And I cannot wait to meet my new team mates, to wear the Eintracht jersey and to go out there and play.”

Kevin-Prince Boateng has been granted a wish to don his favourite number 17 with the Eagles after seeking permission from his new teammate Jan Zimmermann who has also moved on to pick the 37 shirt.

The suspended Ghana international’s documents have been submitted to the Bundesliga in time to make him available for Frankfurt’s season opener on the road to Freiburg on Sunday.
