CHAN Qualifier: Black Stars ‘B’ draw with Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou

Ghana were held to a 2-2 draw by Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou in their first leg of their 2018 CHAN qualifier.

The Black Stars ‘B’ were twice in the lead against the Stallions but failed to hold on to the lead as the entertaining game produced four goals.

It was Asante Kotoko’s Sadick Adams who opened the scoresheet from the spot after Winful Cobbinah’s free kick was handled in the box.

Sylla Mohammed leveled the scoring thirteen minutes after recess as he fired past Joseph Addo.

In the 65th minute, Gideon Waja restored the lead for Ghana after being played through beautifully by Winful Cobbinah and with Ghana heading for an away win, the Burkinabe’s pegged Ghana back for the second time.

Illiase Sawadogo capitalized on a defensive blunder up to level the tie heading into the second leg in Kumasi in 8 days.

A slight advantage for Ghana with the two away goals but the team will be hopeful of providing a win in front of the fans.
