Kotoko set for Libya trip on January 22.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will leave Ghana for Libya on January 22, 2017 to honour their friendly match invitation from Al Ahly.

The Porcupines have received several invitations from a number of clubs to engage in a friendlies but the club has decided to honour the invitation from the Libyan outfit late this month according to Communication Director of the club Obed Acheampong.

The trip is expected to offer the Porcupines and newly appointed coach Zdravko Logarusic an opportunity to assess the team well with a competitive fixture after a week’s training.

“After careful observation of offers to Kumasi Asante Kotoko.  We consider it appropriate we will honour the invitation of Al Ahly Tripoli in Libya. We will travel on 22nd January 2017 for the friendly in Libya,” Obed Acheampong told Adehye3 FM in Kumasi.

Kotoko embarked on a similar trip to Libya during pre-season, just before the start of the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League to engage in a friendly with the same club.
