Sekondi Hassacas denies Yusif Basigi resignation

Public Relations Officer for relegated side Sekondi Hassacas, Ben Quansah has rubbished reports that head coach Yusif Basigi has resigned from the club.

It emerged Wednesday that the Black Queens coach had parted ways with the Sekondi based club citing health reasons but Quansah says the reports are false.

“There is no truth in that, you know he is the head coach for the Black Queens so he’s with them in Accra preparing for the African Women’s Championship. There is no truth that Basigi has resigned, he is still with us,” the Hassacas PRO tells Footy-Ghana.com.

According to the club’s spokesperson they are in touch and that nothing of the sort has come up.

“We are in touch with the coach day in day out, personally I have spoken to him and nothing of that sort has come up. We know his whereabouts and anytime he is going for national assignment he seeks for permission so we know his whereabouts.”

“It’s not true he has resigned. He’s still with us and he’s still the head coach of Sekondi Hasaccas.”

Sekondi Hasaccas is one of the three clubs that suffered relegation from the Ghanaian top flight at the end of the 2015/16 league season.
