GHALCA settles on G-6

The Ghana League Clubs Association has agreed with its members to organize a six-club tournament for the preseason.

The competing clubs include the top four clubs in the 2015/16 league season; Wa All Stars, Aduana Stars, Hearts of Oak and Medeama SC, the defending champions of the previous tournament Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, 2016 FA Cup winner Bechem United.

The tournament will be launched in Kumasi on 29th October 2016 with Accra Sports Stadium, Baba Yara Sports stadium and Sunyani Coronation Park as the venues for all the games which will be running from Saturday 5th November to Sunday 4th December 2016.

Public Relations Officer for GHALCA, Otuo Acheampong tells Footy-Ghana.com that the participating clubs will be meeting the executive council on Wednesday 5th October for preliminary discussions.

“Once you pencil down clubs for a competition, you need to meet them and brief them about your proposals, what you intend doing so that you brainstorm. We don’t want a situation where you will be making announcement and the club will also be saying something else”.

“We want to tell them what our plans are and whether they have any input so that after the Wednesday’s meeting, we will know that we are moving in the right direction knowing that they have all agreed in principle to take part in the competition”.
