Black Princesses’ World Cup trip delayed

Coach of the U-20 women’s national team, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has confirmed the team is cash-trapped as they ready themselves for the 2016 World Cup in Papua New Guinea.

The Princesses booked a place for the tournament after a convincing 6-2 aggregate win over Ethiopia and have been grouped alongside France, New Zealand and USA in Group C.

According to the Coach, they were expected to leave the country on Friday 28th October 2016 but funds for their trip have not been released to enable the team embark on the trip.

“We were expecting to have left here on the 28th but as I speak to you, the authorities have not spoken to us about our going,” the former Kotoko coach told Starr Sports.

“So we have decided to localize training session and when we have the opportunity to move out, we will go and polish our training with their facilities.”

The Black Princesses will be starting their campaign on day two of the competition; November 14 against New Zealand.

The other two group games will be with France on November 17 and the final group game on November 21 against USA.
