Playing for Kotoko brings exposure – Felix Annan

Goalkeeper of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Felix Annan has described as a privilege to wear the jersey of the Porcupine warriors.

Kotoko has a big reputation, both home and abroad, and was recently named Africa’s “Club of the century.”

Despite its past glories, many football fans believe current crop of players have not lived up to the status befitting of the club.

Annan kept the post 10 times for Kotoko last season, after injury on match day 1 disrupted his campaign. Nonetheless, Annan, who spent the 20144/2015 season on loan at West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) feels honored to be playing for Kotoko.

“It’s a huge privilege to wear the Kotoko jersey in the sense that the club demands results each and every day. When Kotoko plays even a third division team they want victory, you can’t compare that to other lower clubs”.

He explained that, “You can afford to lose in other clubs and you get it easy but when you lose in Kotoko you don’t get it easy, that is the huge expectation and privilege because when you play for Asante Kotoko, your image rises up and it’s easier for your own advertisement, people see you more than when you play for the small club”.

Annan kept six clean sheets and won the man of the match award in Kotoko’s 1-1 draw with Hasaacas in match day 26 in the Ghana Premier League.
