PEACEMAKERS: SWAG meet Sports Minister over ‘feud’ with GFA

Executives of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Youth Sports (MOYS) in a bid to mediate the impasse between the outfit and the Ghana Football Association.

The two bodies have been at each others throat for a while with most of their row being in the media; a situation many believe will hurt the country’s football especially as the Black Stars get ready for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers next month.

As a follow up to a meeting with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), SWAG on Tuesday afternoon continued its mediation in the feud between the MOYS and the FA.

Executives of SWAG, led by President Kwabena Yeboah met Hon. Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye and his deputy, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, during which issues of national interest were discussed.

According to SWAG, they were happy about the outcome of the two meetings and assurances from both sides to help resolve the impasse.

Having listened to all sides, SWAG says it will come out later with a statement but urged all especially the media to be circumspect and help push a positive position which can only bring about progress in sports development.
