Grant eager to make history with Black Stars

Black Stars Coach Avram Grant has reiterated his desire to make history with Ghana both on the continental and global level.

Speaking to newsmen ahead of Ghana’s final 2017 Nations Cup qualifier on Saturday, the former Chelsea manager said his quest for glory in the Africa Nations Cup and as well at the World Cup Russia 2018 should Ghana qualify is intact.

“My target is to lead the first African country to make history at the world cup (reach a semi-final place) and be an African Champion at the same time,” Grant said.

“The talent is in abundance and that is why I want to build a team – a strong squad and in fact, a winning team.

“Since my first defeat against Senegal in the opening match of the 2015 AFCON, we won all the games until the final.”

Grant is expected to lead the Black Stars to the Africa Nations Cup to be hosted by Gabon in January 2017.

The Israeli is preparing for the ultimate Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium though Ghana has already qualified for the tournament.
