Gockel Ahortor leaves Inter Allies, set for Hearts move

Accra Hearts of Oak are close to securing the signature of Inter Allies midfielder Gockel Ahortor.

The Phobians who seek to replenish their side with a number of quality players for the 2016/17 season have set sights on the stalwart midfielder after learning of his free agent status.

Footy-Ghana.com picks information that the local Black Stars midfielder extended his contract for a few months to enable him last the entire season after his contract expired in the middle of the just ended season.

Ahortor has been with the ‘Eleven is To One side’ for the past three seasons.

The midfielder is noted for his industry and expertise in set pieces of which he managed to score five out of his total goal tally of seven in the just ended Ghana Premier League season.

He also earned a trial visit to Denmark to train with Viborg FF just before the season ended but couldn’t earn a transfer to the Danish outfit.

Gockel Ahortor appeared 24 times for Inter Allies and was instrumental in their stay in Ghana’s Premier Division after weeks of relegation battle.
