Baba Rahman ready for life under new Chelsea boss

Ghana and Chelsea defender Abdul Baba Rahman has declared his preparedness to play under new club boss, Antonio Conte.

The Blues have finalized a deal with the former Juventus manager to take charge of the club for the next three years. This gives Chelsea a new direction and a task ahead of every player as the Azurri’s gaffer takes charge after the European Championship campaign with Italy.

Rahman, who joined Chelsea last summer, making 23 appearances in all competitions is upbeat about his new manager’s arrival and confident of working under Conte’s charges. The defender made this revelation on Metro TV.

“I have already spoken to Conte. From what I have seen and noticed about him, he is a coach who can help Chelsea a lot,” he said.

“If you look at his tactics [and] style of play, I think it’s going to help Chelsea.”

The Black Stars left-back also welcomes potential the arrival of fellow countryman Kwadwo Asamoah. He believes his quality will be vital for Chelsea.

“I’m looking forward to it. It will be a very good [signing] for the manager.

“I don’t know the system he [Conte] is going to play, but as we all know, Kwadwo is a very good player. For sure he’s going to add something to the team,” the former Asante Kotoko loanee added.

The 21-year-old, a product of Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC played for Greuther Furth and Augsburg in the Bundesliga before joining Chelsea.
