VIDEO: Gideon Baah nets debut goal for Red Bulls

Ghana’s Gideon Baah scored his first goal of the season for new club New York Red Bulls as they walloped second placed New York City FC Saturday.

The Bulls silenced a star-studded side made up of Frank Lampard, David Villa, and Andrea Pirlo at their own backyard by 7-0.

The 24-year old left-back came on as a substitute in the final 10 minutes of the game for attacking midfielder Sascha Kjlisten.

The former HJK Helsinki connected in a corner from two yards in the 90th minute, after Mikey Lopez missed it to complete the heavy win. Their win is the joint largest ever scoreline in the MLS history.

The Ghanaian International has struggled to break into Jesse Marsch’s set-up due to an early season injury. He has featured in four games, two as a substitute and played full 90 minutes in the remaining two matches, seeing 235 minutes of football action out of 1,170 minutes.

New York Red Bulls are 5th on the MLS league table with 16 points and will play Toronto FC at home in their next match.
