Former skipper of Accra Hearts of Oak, Yaw Amankwah Mireku, has offered to advise the club’s goalkeeper, Soulama Abdoulaye, after a horrendous display against arch rivals Asante Kotoko on match day 10.
Soulama, a former Kotoko shot-stopper caused a serious blunder in the closing stages of the first half to gift the Porcupines all the three points and gain all the bragging rights. He was subsequently given his marching orders on the 63rd minute after a last man tackle in the second half.
Amankwah Mireku, who played for the Phobians for ten years, was very furious at the Burkinabe import for his sluggish attitude on the field of play.
“Soulama should advise himself. If I were to be him, I would have pack bag and baggage and tell management members that I beg, [for now he is been given a straight red card and will miss four matches including Kotoko’s match] please let me go back to my country and rest,” he told Kumasi-based Metro FM.
The 36-year old claim matches between these two clubs have different meanings being read into it, so players need to guard themselves against any foul plays.
“For now he should be allowed to rest or stay aside, like going back to his country. If he knows something, he will go back.
“Hearts and Kotoko matches of such nature, we don’t play with the emotions and hearts of the supporters. And am I telling you, you can see yesterday, the midfield of both teams played very poorly. There was no sense of urgency [from both sides].
Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Kenichi Yatsuhashi, has openly defended the goalkeeper after receiving enormous backslash from the supporters.
Hearts travel to play as host to Berekum Chelsea in their next league fixture on match day 11 in the Premier League.
