Jimmy Corbblah revels in Berekum Chelsea thrashing

Head coach of Inter Allies, Jimmy Corbblah, is elated by his side’s 3-1 drubbing of Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

The former Wa All Stars manager, who took over Allies following the departure of Herbert Addo, recorded his first win in three attempts with a home victory at the Tema Park.

A Fredrick Boateng brace added to an Edward Adjaklo opener for the Eleven-Is-To-One, with Chelsea’s consolation coming through Sadick Adams.

“We needed to win this game and we just did,” Corbblah said after the game.

“It has reduced the pressure on us, but I think I need to build on this performance to record good results in our subsequent matches.

“At this point in time, the league becomes tougher, so you need to take advantage of your home matches. Personally, I am very excited with this victory and the way my boys played today.”

Corbblah’s previous efforts had ended in a 1-1 home draw and a narrow 1-0 away reversal to Ashanti Gold and  Kotoko respectively.

Currently 14th on the league log, Allies play guests to Sekondi Hasaacas in their last fixture of the first round.
