GPL: Richard Arthur credits victory over Kotoko to hardwork

Wa All Stars forward Richard Arthur has credited their midweek’s 1-0 victory over Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League to intense preparation and hardwork.

Having gone without a win in their last four matches, coach Enos Kwame Adipah’s charges returned to winning ways on Wednesday, courtesy of the frontman’s early first half strike.

Their last win ahead of matchday 14 had been a 2-0 triumph over relegation-threatened Dwarfs.

“My confidence level was very high,” Arthur said after the game.

“We prepared very well and prayed throughout the week for this victory because it’s been a while since we picked a league [win].

Arthur is also optimistic of their chances ahead of the clash with Berekum Chelsea on Sunday.

“I have high hopes that, going to Berekum, we will definitely return home with at least a point,” he said.

“The confidence level of my fellow team-mates is also high. We hope to come back with a point.”

All Stars are currently top of the league standings ahead of Hearts of Oak’s fixture with Liberty Professionals on Thursday.

The Phobians will reclaim the top spot with victory over the Scientific Soccer Lads.
