Aduana to wield disciplinary axe on truant Anokye Badu

Former League champions Aduana Stars have indicated that defender Stephen Anokye Badu will face sanctions after going AWOL.

The centre-back joined the Dormaa club on a two-year deal this season but has struggled to break into the team’s starting eleven.

Anokye Badu who featured for the Ghana U-20s in the 2015 Africa Youth Championship has so far played in three games for the side, a situation that has left him increasingly frustrated.

He absconded camp without notice, forcing the CEO, Albert Commey, to issue a statement on his disappearance.

“Last (week) Friday at the last training he (Anokye Badu) complained to the coach that he was not getting playing time and would wish to be released.

“He has always been in the 18 team list so I told him his claim was not tangible and that he should go back to the coach retract his statement and work hard  at breaking into the starting list.

“He did not report for training on Monday, I called his number; he refused to answer neither do he call back so the club decided to report his conduct to the Football Association and as well report in the media of his disappearance,” the Aduana CEO explained.

Anokye Badu who featured for B.A United on loan last season however availed himself to Aduana following the press statement the club released.

“Interestingly, he has reported (on Thursday) after the club released a statement in the media.

“As a club, we won’t condone such behaviour. We will set a date to hear him out and take necessary actions,” Albert Commey stated.

Aduana Stars after a jerky start to the season are back firing from all angles and have leapfrogged frin the relegation zone to third place after 11 matches in the ongoing 2015/16 Ghana Premier League.
