“Yatsuhashi is acting childish” – Odotoi hits back

Chairman of the Hearts of Oak Strategic Management Committee Vincent Sowah-Odotoi has hit back at head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi after the latter took to Facebook to clarify issues regarding unpaid salaries and bonus, describing the Japanese trainers actions as “childish.”

Yatsuhashi took to social networking site Facebook to confirm reports in the local media that he had rejected his salary because the club was offering to pay just him while his backroom staff and players remained unpaid.

In an exclusive interview with Kumasi-based Ultimate FM, Odotoi confirmed the club owed Yatsuhashi two months salary (February & March) but insisted the club did not violate any terms of agreement by owing the coach.

“Yes, we owe Kenichi two months salary but taking to facebook with this issue is a bit childish. Are we the first club to owe players or technical team staff? Even in America where he came from, and all around the globe, people owe people,” Odotoi stated.

“I don’t really know what he is seeking to achieve with that facebook post, but this club is trying as much as possible to remain professional and what he has done threatens our professionalism,” he added.

Hearts of Oak are expected to meet the coach today to ask for clarification on his facebook post, with suggestions the former Aspire Academy trainer could be given the booth if he fails to offer a tenable explanation.
