Women’s League appeals to Corporate Ghana for sponsorship

The Ghana Women’s League Board has appealed to corporate Ghana to come to their aid in terms of sponsorship for the league.

The Chairperson of the board, Leanier Addy at the launch of the 2016 National Women’s League and Women’s knockout competitions urged various institutions to support the league.

The league has over the years lacked financial support; a challenge for the various clubs and their officials.

Madam Addy mentioned that “Our biggest challenge is the lack of sponsorship for our club as well as the board so let me use this opportunity to implore Corporate Ghana to come to come to our aid”.

She has also asked the media to provide coverage and publicity for the various games.

“We also use this opportunity to again appeal to the media to help us with publicity; this season’s league has the contest of great teams and we all the participating teams all the best of luck”.   

Fifteen (15) teams are expected to participate in the league which will be played on a zonal (Northern and Southern) basis.

Southern Zone: Hasaacas Lady, Bafana Ladies, Soccer Intellectuals, Halifax Ladies, Police, Samaria Ladies, Immigration Ladies, Lady Strikers.

Northern Zone: Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Prisons Ladies, Fabulous Ladies, Ashtown Ladies, Lepo Ladies, Real Upper Northern, Subayo Golden Ladies.

Defending champions Hasaacas ladies will hosts Lady Strikers on Saturday, April 16 at the Bompeh Park in Takoradi.
