Supporters Chairman and Board Member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Barimah Atuahene has cautioned the supporters and the club against any form of mind games from their rivals Asante Kotoko that will seem to shift their attention from the game.
Hearts will be hosting the Porcupine Warriors on the 2nd of May which falls on Monday in an epic match day 10 encounter of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko were last year attacked in their hotel by unidentified assailants prior to their crucial game against Hearts at the Accra Sports Stadium. They however went ahead to win the match by 2-1 despite calls for the game to be rescheduled since the team could be suffering from psychological and emotional trauma.
Atuahene thinks the incident was predetermined and they need to be careful not to fall prey to such mind games this term.
“It really did hurt me that Kotoko did that propaganda on the basis of them being robbed. I heard that our [former] CEO [Gerrard Ankrah] was there,” he told Nhyira FM.
“I always say that I was trained by Nii Ayi Bonte. I was much worried that our CEO Gerrard [at that time] went to Kotoko’s camp. But this time around, whatever they [Kotoko] cook up, we won’t buy into that.
“Whatever any Kotoko supporter says, I advise our supporters not to pay attention to them. We won’t mind them on whatever they say. We have to be focus and make sure that, we are not only thinking about the match but all other factors,” he added.
Hearts are currently out of Accra on a four-day camping ahead of their super clash against Asante Kotoko.
All the other seven match day 10 fixtures will come off on the 1st of May.
