Kwarasey out for a month with finger injury

Ghana national team goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey has been ruled out for the next month or so due to a finger injury.

Portland Timbers head coach Caleb Porter announced the news.

Kwarasey had to be substituted in the 50th minute of Timbers’ victory over San Jose last week Saturday after getting his finger caught in the Providence Park turf while picking up a shot.

He tore a ligament in the finger but will not need surgery. Kwarasey will however wear a splint on the finger.

The 28-year-old is expected to recover in time for Ghana’s 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier away to Mauritius slate for the first week of June.
