GPL PREVIEW: All Stars to stretch unbeaten run?

League leaders Wa All Stars will look forward to continue their unbeaten run in the 2015/16 Premier League when they host Ebusua Dwarfs at the Wa Park in a match day 7 fixture of the GPL.

Wa All Stars have had a good start to the season which has seen them secure a famous 3-1 away victory which broke the unbeaten run of in-form Hearts of Oak and will want to continue their dominance at their favourite Wa Park.

Dwarfs, Premier League returnees, on the hand started on not too good a note after losing to fellow Dreams FC in their first game and subsequently lost twice to New Edubiase and Medeama SC and drawn also against drawn goalless against Hearts of Oak and Bechem United.

Their first victory came on match day six at the Robert Mensah Stadium when they hosted Tema-based Inter Allies by 3-1 and with only five (5) points, Dwarfs will have to fight this weekend to prevent a possible relegation battle.

Since January 2011, Ebusua Dwarfs has been the better of these two sides in Premier League games winning three (3) out of eight (8) matches with Wa All Stars winning two (2) with three (3) games ending in a draw.

Though the Wa Park is seen as a fortress for Wa All Stars, Ebusua Dwarfs in 2012 managed a 2-1 victory over the home side and that has been the highest goal margin between these two sides as Dwarfs again won 2-1 at home in 2013.

Goalkeeper Richard Ofori would want to keep his good form the Upper West side that has seen him earn a call up to the senior national team as he comes up against the top scorer from the 2014/15 GN Bank Division one League, Bright Luqman.

Referee Timothy Obuobisah will be the man at the centre of affairs with compatriot Effah Tetteh as assistant 1 and Richard Kotey as assistant 2 with Ali Alhassan as the 4th referee.

Two basic statement will be made in this game; continuous unbeaten record for Wa All Stars in this year’s league or continuous dominance of Ebusua Dwarfs on the Wa lads in recent years.
