The win puts Ghana in a good position ahead of the return leg in Accra as the qualification for the final tournament reaches the final stage.

“This game was very difficult. This time round we played very well especially in the first half,” Basigi said.

“But the penalty was very doubtful. First penalty and second penalty were all doubtful but they fought back.”

“They fought back and equalized and went ahead to win.”

“This speaks volumes about the character of the players. I have really respected the girls. Despite all the odds, they fought to the end of the game.”
