Asante Kotoko young forward, Dauda Mohammed is optimistic his side will turn things around in the Ghana Premier League when they lock horns with Medeama SC on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors who have been tipped as the overwhelming favourites to win the league started the season on the wrong footing with a defeat to WAFA at Sogapkope. Two goals from Charles Boateng and Black Stars winger Samuel Tetteh handed all three points to the academy lads.
Kotoko will host Medeama SC who have suffered two straight defeats in the two-week Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the Week 3 fixtures.
Dauda, who did not feature for the Reds against WAFA due to injury has recovered and he tells the club’s website that he and his team-mates have no excuse to drop a point on Sunday.
He noted that they are not scared of their opponents though it would be a difficult nut to crack.
‘’The games are dear to our hearts. In fact, they look challenging. Medeama have lost two straight games and will surely storm Kumasi with full vim to redeem their image. Last season they came to disturb us at the same venue so we are being cautious. Ashgold too are out of Africa and are turning all attention on the league.
‘’But we are not scared of them. Nobody is beyond our capability. We lost our first game and we have no excuse than to grab the six points at stake. Anything less than victory can be disastrous because some of the teams have already taken the lead,’’ Dauda stated.
Meanwhile, Kotoko have priced match tickets for Sunday’s clash with Medeama at 5, 8 and 20 cedis. Kick off is 3:15pm.
