“I’ve been accused of inciting Aduana players” – Kwabena Ameyaw

Aduana Stars have asked assistant manager of the club, Kwabena Ameyaw to step aside as they seek to effect changes to their technical team.

‘Holy Sinner’ as he is popularly called, follows his head coach Nurudeen Ahmed who resigned on Monday after recording consecutive defeats in Aduana’s two league games played so far.

According to Ameyaw, his personal investigations revealed he has been tagged as stirring players not to deliver for the club, hence the decision by the club’s management.

“My personal research reveals the CEO says the game played at Tema where the players performed poorly was under my influence. He believes I incited the players not to play well. How on earth could I do this?

“Ask any of the management members if I have ever said anything against the coach before” he revealed to Nhyira FM in Kumasi.

It was rumoured that there were issues within the playing, technical and management bodies before the side’s opening league game against Inter Allies where they lost. This however got worse after the second game at home where they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat by WA All Stars.

The former player and captain of Aduana, in an emotional mood says he will do no such negatives to seek the downfall of a club he has struggled for to be at this level.

“I have toiled for Aduana all my life so why should I plan their downfall? I have no problem stepping aside from the team because some of these issues happen in every human’s life. If I have been identified as the stumbling block for Aduana, they should let me go for Aduana to survive.

“If this is the allegation levelled against me, I will leave but I leave everything in God’s control” Coach Ameyaw stated.

The Dormaa-based club are now heading into their next game on Sunday in the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League against Techiman City with Goalkeeper’s trainer Kwasi Ankamah as the interim head coach.
