Inter Allies’ Kwame Baah rejects bribery allegations

Inter Allies goalkeeper Kwame Baah has denied taking bribe in their 2-3 loss to Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The match day 5 home fixture saw Inter Allies take a 2-0 lead after courtesy goals from Frederick Boateng and Gockel Ahotor, putting them in a pole position to claim maximum points but poor second half display from Herbert Addo’s men resulted in conceding three goals that won the Phobians the game.

The goalkeeper after the game was blamed for the goals conceded by the club’s Technical Director Willie Klutse suggesting Baah accepted inducements from Hearts.

A suspicious Klutse alleged Kwame Baah delayed in coming back for the second period of the game and might have allowed himself to be induced by their opponents. But the shot stopper debunked claims explaining the delay was due to a need for him to change his inner apparel as ordered by the match officials.

“I was late to come to the pitch during recess because when I was coming, I was asked by match commissioner and 4th referee to change the shirt I wore inside. They said it was not shown at the technical meeting so I have no right to use it in the game which I conformed” Baah told footy-ghana.com

“I will never have any intentions of doing so to destroy my own career and show disrespect to the game. It will be a disappointment to my family and friends who have high hopes in me to become a great goalkeeper. I never received any money or anything” the gloves man added.

Kwame Baah is a former player of Hearts of Lions who joined the club before the season started. He has mostly been in post for the ‘Eleven Is To One’ in the opening five games due to an injury to first-choice goalkeeper and team captain, Osei Kwame.
