Medeama SC will welcome Ebusua Dwarfs to the Tarkwa TNA Park today in an outstanding week four fixture due to their African Cup competition with Al Ittihad.
Thankfully, Medeama qualified on a 2-1 goal aggregate and will face Sudanese club Ahly Shendy from 8th – 10th of April before hosting them on either 19th or 20th of April in Ghana.
Interestingly enough, both clubs are without a win in the league so far. The Yellow and Mauves is 16th on the league table with just a point whiles Dwarfs is a step above them with two points.
A win for the Tarkwa-base club will see them swap places with either Aduana or Edubiase depending on the number of goals scored.
Both clubs have met on eight (8) occasions with Medeama having the upper hand over the Crabs. They have won four (4), lost two (2) and drawn (2); scored eight (8) and conceded five (5).
Comparing both clubs on match day four, the FA Cup holders have lost only one of the five matches played since 2007 – lost one (1) and won three (3); They have scored six (6) and conceded four (4). Dwarfs on the other hand, have played three matches since 1999 with two (2) loses and a win.
In the month of March, the home side has played 14 matches since 2007 with nine (9) victories, four (4) draws and one (1) defeat; scored 24 and conceded 13 goals.
The Crabs since 1999 have played 13 matches as visitors to other clubs. Dwarfs have won only one (1), lost eight (8) and drawn four (4) times- conceding 16 and scoring eight (8).
Once again, they are yet to pick a win in their last 12 away visits, suffering seven (7) defeats and five draws (5). The last time they won an away game was a 0-1 win against Amidaus Professionals on match day 9 encounter in 2013. Although they are yet to record a win, they are among the teams with the least number of goals conceded.
A defeat for the visitors will see them hit rock bottom of the league table.
The Yellow and Mauves will be seeking to revive themselves back into their previous self’s with a better game and results as Dwarfs will in-turn expect to produce a solid and resolute performance to deny the African campaigners of any victory.
