Accra Hearts of Oak return to the Accra Sports Stadium after two successive away games with Bechem United as guests on match day 4 Sunday afternoon.
Hearts currently lie third with seven points – one behind Wa All Stars and Dreams FC who shared the spoils in a top-of-the-table clash on Saturday.
A perfect opportunity to go top of the league if the in-form Phobians secure victory over Bechem United. One good thing is they are yet to concede a goal this campaign and have kept six clean sheets in their last seven league matches.
Bechem is also fifth with six points from three games. They won 2-0 against Liberty on match day one, lost to Dreams FC and bounced back with a one nil victory against Edubiase last week.
This year is Bechem’s fourth season in the Ghanaian top-flight. They have played Hearts on six occasions in the league, with their first meeting coming on the 11th of January 2012.
The Phobians have secured three wins and a defeat with two ending in stalemates. Six goals have been produced with Hearts enjoying four of them while allowing in two.
Interestingly, both met last season on match day four and in the month of March. Hearts played as guests and lost by a goal to nil but will be hosts this time round.
In the lowest point of their 4-season statistics, Bechem are yet to pick an away win in 16 outings. They have lost 13 out of it and drawn the rest, scored 8 and conceded a whopping 27 goals. Their last away win was a 3-2 victory against Amidaus on the 4th of June 2014.
In their last five visits, they have kept two clean sheets and failed to score in all of them.
Hearts on the flip side have won four out of their last five league matches at home – lost to Asante Kotoko by 1-2 last season. In all these, they have scored 10 and conceded 4.
Their last five matches on match day four in the league have ended in two wins and three defeats, scored four and allowed five in their nets. Whiles Bechem has played three matches since 2011; won two and lost one, scored three and conceded same.
Luckily for Kenichi Yatsuhashi, he will have the services of Eric Kumi who got suspended for the Dwarfs game on accumulated cards as well as new sensation Samudeen Ibrahim who is back from an injury he sustained from the match day one clash with Edubiase.
Bechem’s poor away run could spell doom for them as Hearts of Oak comes out guns blazing, introducing the ‘Sushi’ football once again to entertain the fans.
The Hearts-Bechem clash kicks off at 3:20pm due to the exclusive live telecast by TV right owners SuperSport TV.
