Frank Acheampong dedicates Black Stars goal to victims of Brussels terror attacks

RSC Anderlecht winger Frank Acheampong has dedicated his goal for Ghana in last Thursday’s 3-1 victory over Mozambique to the victims of the Brussels terror attacks.

Acheampong who recorded his second international goal for the senior national team in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier revealed in an interview with GH One TV that he was very familiar with the location of the attacks which occurred on March 22.

“My goal is dedicated to the victims of the attacks and so I take this opportunity to express my condolences,” the 22-year-old whose club is based in the city of the attacks told Sammy Bartels, host of GH One TV’s flagship sports show THE GAME.

He added: “I am with them because it has not been easy. It is quite dangerous but we need to keep on working and praying.”

“I was in Brussels when the attacks occurred and it was around where I live in Belgium.”

Acheampong left Accra for Brussels Monday night and is expected to undergo further scans on an injury he suffered in the game against Mozambique.
