AFCON 2017: Accra to host Ghana-Mozambique qualifier

The Accra Sports Stadium has been chosen as the venue for the Black Stars’ Afcon 2017 qualifying home clash with Mozambique later this month.

Ghana’s senior national team is scheduled to feature in a double header with Mozambique over six days in Group H of the qualifying rounds to Gabon 2017.

Avram Grant’s men have a 100% record after securing six points in two games played so far – a 7-1 thrashing of Mauritius in Accra and a 1-0 away victory over Rwanda.

Ghana is set to pick a suitable date for the home qualifier from March 23-26 with the reverse in Maputo also set for March 26-29.

According to sources, the Ghana FA has opted for Accra largely because of the closeness of the dates between the back-to-back games against the OS Mambas.
