Management increases match bonuses for Kotoko players

The Management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, led by their former player, Mr. Samuel Opoku Nti, has confirmed the club has agreed to increase the winning bonus ahead of the 2015/2016 league season.

The Porcupine Warriors last season came second; even though they were hugely criticized by the media and pundits when their performances looked unconvincing with sketchy results.

Series of signings have been made to augment and beef up their squad. Capturing the services of more than ten players during the transfer window.

This has seen the club being tagged as the overwhelming favourite to lift the Ghana Premier League this season. Won the SWAG Cup, their 80th Anniversary Cup, the maiden edition of the GHALCA organized First Trust G6 Tournament and a host of friendly matches during the pre-season.

In a bit to boost the morale of the playing body, Opoku Nti, known among the media circles as Lord Zico revealed to Kumasi-based radio station Boss FM, that the winning bonuses have been reviewed from last season on account of both home and away matches.

“As Management, we have reviewed the winning bonuses of the players and I can confidently say we have increased it. The increment is for both home and away games and in addition to the team’s preparation; it will serve as a form a form of motivation,” Opoku Nti explained.

”The winning bonus for home wins is perked at Ghc 400 and Ghc 600 for away games and as promised we will deliver immediately paying out to the players the agreed sums.”

Asante Kotoko will square it out with West African Football Academy (WAFA), at the Sogakope Stadium on Saturday in their first league match of the season.

The Red Devils will be looking to make amends this time around as they lost by a goal to nil last season.
