Former Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has confirmed he’s been appointed the Youth Development coach at the Ghana Football Association.
Dramani’s new role means he’s now responsible for coming up with programs that are geared towards identifying and developing young players for the Ghana Football Association. He also has oversight responsibilities over the activities of Ghana’s age group national teams including the U-17, U-20 and U-23 Male and Female.
Dramani until his new role, was a stop-gap coach for the female U-20 team the Black Princesses following Bashir Hayford’s resignation, and led them to qualification for this year’s Women’s U-20 tournament in Papua New Guinea.
Asked if he’d be willing to lead the team to the tournament when asked, the former Kotoko trainer answered in the affirmative.
“Why not? I’m a full time employee of the GFA now working as the Youth Development Coach. So my job cuts across both the male and female national teams. Wherever they ask me to help out I won’t have a choice,” Dramani told writer Fentuo Tahiru.
“For now, I think we will have to concentrate on drawing their preparation programs and we will see what happens. The tournament is a long way from now so we have to wait to see what happens,” he added.
Dramani led the U-17 female national team to a third place finish in 2013 in Azerbaijan before taking over the Kotoko job. He won two successive league titles for the Porcupine Warriors before he was fired early 2015 following a run of poor results.
