The Ghana FA has on Tuesday, released the official fixture list for the much-awaited 2015/16 Ghana Premier League (GPL) scheduled to commence on February 20.
The new season which had earlier been envisaged to begin on December 20 last year has now been given the all clear to commence exactly two months after the initially proposed date.
The opening day games will see champions AshantiGold commence their title defence in a compelling fixture at home to FA Cup holders Medeama SC. Asante Kotoko play guest to WAFA while Accra Hearts of Oak also host New Edubiase at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Arch-rivals Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are scheduled to match-up in a day 10 fixture on 1st May, 2016 in Accra with the corresponding second round game also fixed for July 10 in Kumasi.

The first round of the season ends on May 29. However, unlike in previous seasons where clubs are allowed a minimum two-week break after the first round, the second stanza this time, continues the subsequent weekend – 4th June with match day 16 games.
The curtains on the 2015/16 season will then be closed on the season on September 18.
