Medeama gazump Hearts to sign Bernard Ofori

Tarkwa-based Medeama SC have beaten Hearts of Oak to the signing of New Edubiase’s Bernard Ofori.

The striker had appeared to be heading to join the Phobians but talks broke down on Friday night, sources close to the deal revealed. However, a last minute bid from the 2016 Caf Confederation Cup campaigners was accepted with Ofori also completing his personal terms.

A statement from the club reads: “Medeama would like to announce the signing of striker Bernard Ofori on a two-year deal from New Edubiase.

The youngster joins the Mauve and Yellows after a fabulous season with the Bekwai-based side.

Medeama president Moses Armah said: We are happy to announce that Bernard Ofori has joined us for the new two years.”

“Bernard is an exciting prospect and we look forward working with him. We welcome him to Medeama and confident he can help us achieve our ultimate aim.

Ofori, one of the long-serving players at Edubiase scored 7 goals for the side last season.
