Three of the candidates who will contest in next month’s FIFA Presidential elections will be in Accra during the General Assembly of the WAFU Zone B which will be held on Tuesday January 12.
HRH Prince Ali Al Hussein, Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa and Gianni Infantino will be in Accra to present themselves to delegates of the sub-regional football body who will be at Tuesday’s congress as the other two aspirants, Jérôme Champagne and Tokyo Sexwale are expected to send their representatives.
Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa is expected to arrive in Accra on Sunday evening whiles the two others will be in Ghana on Monday.
The aspirants will be hoping to convince delegates to vote for them in the FIFA Presidential elections which will be held on February 26 in Zurich.
The Presidential aspirants will also address the media at a press conference which will be organized after the Congress.
GFA Boss Kwesi Nyantakyi who is also the President of the WAFU Zone B will be chairing the General Assembly which will be held at the Movenpick hotel.
Delegates from Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Togo, Niger, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and host nation Ghana will be at the assembly.
The Congress is expected to commence at 9:00am GMT.
