Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko has been released from his contract with Turkish side Eskişehirspor.
The central defender has been with the side since his €1.35m summer 2012 move from Maniaspor also in Turkey.
But financial difficulties have forced Eskişehirspor to terminate contracts with three of their high earning players of which the Ghanaian international has been affected, reports in the Turkish media have suggested.
“The only issue of Eskişehirspor is that we owe a lot of money,” club President Mesut Hoşcan is quoted to have hinted.
Akaminko who has featured in 72 games and scored twice had his contract expected to run till the end of May 2018. He has now been released together with Nigerian international Dewale Raheem Lawal and Birol Parlak.
The 27-year-old stopper recently returned from a long term injury that kept him out of the 2014 Fifa World Cup as well as the entire 2014/15 season.
