Inter Allies extend Baba Mensah contract, amid Hilal talks

Inter Allies have extended the contract of defender Baba Mensah amidst talks with Sudanese giants Al Hilal, footy-Ghana.com can confirm.

The centre-back has reportedly been a target for top Ghana Premier League sides after putting up another impressive display in his second spell at the top-flight with the ‘Eleven Is To One’ just this past season.

Baba’s outstanding display won him the best defender award after featuring in 22 games of the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Premier League.

It is understood that the renewal decision by Inter Allies is to ward off interests from local clubs pondering to make a move for the club’s vice-captain.

Footy-Ghana.com can confirm that the 21-year-old has signed a one-year extension to his contract but could still be on his way out for a move abroad during the winter transfer window.

According to sources, Al Hilal Omdurman have expressed interest in signing the Ghana U-23 defender and are already in advanced talks to secure his services for the 2016 Sudani Premier League.

Baba Mensah has also attracted the attention of several clubs in Europe, especially in the Scandinavia.
